Harmony Fellowship is a St. Louis based New Thought Spiritual Center conveniently located in the heart of Maplewood. Spiritual Mentor and founder, Dana Winter, has created a friendly environment where all may come together to share, learn and grow in an understanding of what it means to be spiritual beings having a human experience. Using a meld of religion, science and philosophy we journey toward a deeper awareness of our being one with God and all Its creation. We understand the importance o …
Meet other local atheists, freethinkers, rationalists, and agnostics. This meetup group is related to the Rationalist Society of Saint Louis, founded in 1948 to create rational community. We meet almost weekly, to share support and freethinking through discussions, presentations, and events. We know that all the currently popular gods don't exist - so, how do you live your life in light of that knowledge? Looking for a comfortable place to be open and honest about what you really think? This is …
Thought it would be beneficial to start a group that highlights individual talents and knowledge that involve emergency preparedness. As a relatively new prepper, I thought like minded people with various experience and interests could come together to learn from each other. Depending upon interest, we could do a monthly get-together and decide how to proceed. I think it would be fun/beneficial to learn about food storage, solar energy, SHTF ideas etc. Open to anyone to join. You do not have to …

In 2009-10 we met monthly at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in St. Louis city, and heard from folks that it would be nice to meet in the county. In 2010-2011 we met monthly at Emmanuel Church in Webster Groves, but many fewer were actually able to make the meetings. A few thought we might try a virtual meeting online and we've attempted twice a month on Mondays. But, it never quite took off and now Mondays won't work for our active folks. So, if you want to start something back up, just send us an …
This is new group . . . .The Tower Grove Book Club is open to everyone! I started this group because I would find myself reading a new book I came across at the library and wanting to share my thoughts/feeling with others . .but who doesn't? Isn't that the point of a great book!?
… We also engage in group discussions following the talks in an open forum atmosphere, where participants discuss their thoughts and views of issues pertaining to practice, philosophy, and everyday life. A primary goal of our practice is to simplify the most meaningful methods so that open-minded persons can participate in the cultivation of mindfulness, personal development and share this through socially engaged Buddhism. Common questions and answers: Do I need to know anything about Buddhis …
… I would also love for new (or old) members to send me their ideas. Ideally this is a member driven group; therefore, we are looking for Mamas who want to regularly participate. To this end, I will be removing group members who are not active. Because we have had so much interest in County events from County Mamas, we've started a sister group, Hip Mamas County. If you choose to join both groups, your $10/year membership dues need only be paid once (one payment for both groups). BTW, if you have …

This is a meetup group dedicated to exploring the ideas discussed on Less Wrong. You don't have to have read the blog before joining the group. You just have to be interested in trying to upgrade your rationality. Thinking and deciding are central to our daily lives. The Less Wrong community aims to gain expertise in how human brains think and decide, so that we can do so more successfully. We use the latest insights from cognitive science, social psychology, probability theory, and decision the …
I have a sweet German Shepherd puppy who just turned 1. She is full of energy and loves to play with and learn from other dogs. I noticed that different types of dogs play differently and thought that it would be nice for her to play with other shepherds. Plus, I would like to meet other owners that might have pointers or tips on raising a happy, smart and well behaved shepherd dog. Please, only friendly dogs and owners should join.

My goal with this group is to allow developers and digital artists from all backgrounds to converse and make connections with one another to help expand both our individual and collective knowledge. No use reinventing the wheel when you have resources available that can save you time and perhaps show you something you never thought of. Basically I see our group as a geek collective consciousness.
The Read & Feed had another great meet-up! We met at Deb's house and fed on homemade food and desserts. We drank wine and discussed the book, among other things. At our next meet-up, we will discuss 2 books, since we all thought one was not enough! We hope to add new members at the next meeting on March 15, 2012. Please join us! We will discuss What Alice Forgot, and The Secret Life of Bees. We would like to invite any of the current members who missed the 1st meeting to consider joining us! We …

The ALT.NET community is a loosely coupled, highly cohesive group of like-minded individuals who believe that the best developers do not align themselves with platforms and languages, but with principles and ideas. In 2007, David Laribee created the term "ALT.NET" to explain this "alternative" view of the Microsoft development universe--a view that challenged the "Microsoft-only" approach to software development. He distilled his thoughts into four key developer characteristics which form the …
